• The Anycubic Kobra 3 Series / Kobra 3 Max Press-Fit Head / Pneumatic Joint Assembly is the specialized quick-release push-in fitting mounted atop the toolhead cover and filament hub module.It serves as the main mechanical securing mechanism for anchoring the reverse-bowden PTFE guide tubes (4 mm outer diameter). It allows the 1.75 mm filament strands to glide smoothly from the ACE Pro multi-color engine into the extruder drive gears without buckling or becoming dislodged during high-retraction movements.
• Internal Spring-Steel Gripping Teeth: Houses a ring of hardened stainless-steel retention teeth that bite lightly into the outer wall of 4 mm PTFE tubing to prevent accidental pull-outs under heavy retraction forces.
• Depressible Quick-Release Ring: Features a spring-loaded top collet ring that, when pressed down, retracts the internal metal teeth to allow fast, toolless removal of the PTFE guide tube.
• Smooth Funnel Geometry: Formed with a chamfered inner bore that prevents filament tips from catching or snagging when feeding new colors from the ACE Pro hub.
• Vibration-Resistant Press-Fit Mount: Press-fits flush into the printhead housing frame, maintaining alignment with the extruder entry channel during rapid directional shifts at print speeds up to 600 mm/s.

Maintenance & Care Tips

• Releasing the PTFE Tube Properly: Never yank the PTFE tube directly out. Push the top collar ring down against the housing body to collapse the internal steel teeth before pulling the tube straight up.
• Trimming Worn PTFE Ends: If a PTFE tube loses its grip inside the press-fit head due to worn grooves, trim approximately 5 mm square off the tube tip using a dedicated PTFE tube cutter before re-inserting.
• Checking Insertion Depth: Ensure the PTFE tube is pushed all the way down until it seats firmly against the lower internal stop inside the fitting; leaving a gap can cause filament to bind during multi-color swaps.
